03 Sporttrac 4X4 rearend oil leak. Empty 03 Sporttrac 4X4 rearend oil leak.

Guys I've noticed a slight oil leak from the rear-end where the driveshaft connects. Has anybody ever had this problem? Is it an expensive fix? I have a friend that is the store manager at one of the local Firestone stores and he says its $140 for the seal and $240 for a total service. Opinions/suggestions? Thanks.
